Vogella organised an Eclipse hackathon

Good results!

vogella conducted an Eclipse hackathon in the beginning of June 2019 in order to test the results of the personalised prioritiser component of OpenReq for different Eclipse contributors. More specifically, the hackathon took place on June 12, 2019 at the location of a customer of the company. Participants of the hackathon included 20 Eclipse contributors.

During the day, the contribution process of the Eclipse project as well as the Eclipse OpenReq Plugin were presented to the participants,. All participants were asked to install the plugin and to give feedback on the usability and results.

The participants who installed the plugin (15) rated its usability to be very good. The assessment of usability depended very strongly on the amount of bugs that the contributor had solved in the past. Those who had already solved at least 10 bugs in the past, found suitable keywords from their lists. Those who had solved less than 10 bugs, found the lists not accurate or relevant to them.

The vogella GmbH is one of the major contributors to the Eclipse open source project. It has been working on a new feature integrating the Eclipse IDE with the OpenReq platform. The OpenReq platform has been developed in the EU-funded OpenReq project.
